Anzac Day
What a fantastic representation for our school on Anzac Day at the March. Well done to all the students, parents and staff who attended.

     Term 2
This term the grade 5’s are learning about natural disasters. Natural disasters are things like earthquakes, volcano eruptions and tsunamis. I am more interested in earthquakes like how do they happen? Why do they happen?
Well this is how; earthquakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault. This sudden release of energy causes the seismic waves that make the ground shake. There have been many earthquakes over in New Zealand like the one in Christchurch. Many people died and many were badly injured.
FACT: Did you feel that? You may not have, but every 60 seconds a tiny earthquake happens beneath our feet!

Term 2
This term the grade 5’s are learning about natural disasters I’m learning about volcanoes this term. In simple terms a volcano is a mountain that opens downward to a pool of magma below the surface of the earth. It is a hole in the Earth from which magma and gas erupt.

This term the grade 5’s are learning about natural disasters. The thing I’m most interested in is tsunamis. A fact I have learnt is that when an undersea earthquake or other major disturbance causes a section of the ocean floor to suddenly rise or sink, the mass of water above the affected area also rises or sinks. This unexpected movement of the water creates a series of powerful waves. There was a terrible tsunami in Japan a few weeks ag0 it was very sad that so many people lost their lives and their homes. On Wednesday the 16th of March Rosebud had a “Ride to school” day. When we got to school we had breakfast. I ate toast with vegemite and they also had cereal. It was very yummy, thanks to the parents and teachers who helped.  This is me with two of my friends Josh and Lochie.

My Buddy’s name is Lidia.
The Thing I like about my buddy is that she cares about me and that she likes how I care about her as a friend.
Being a buddy for a small prep is a lot of work even when you are not a parent.

My buddy’s name is Chloe!
The thing that I like the most about Chloe is that she gives me hugs whenever I see her!
Chloe likes lollies and so do I.
Being a buddy can be hard like my first time not seeing Chloe all day and she cried and I started to feel sorry for her. I really wanted to play with my friends. I also wanted her to play with her friends. By Livvy!
